As Christine opened her eyes the glare took her by surprise. It had been raining for so long the proverbial expression "I forgot what the sun looked like" came to mind. later as she drove out of the parking garage she reached for her sunglasses only to find them fallen between the seats. As she drove her familiar route the same one she had driven for the last two years she noticed something sparkling in the sun. It was an odd shaped bldg. tucked away in a corner had it been there all along. After driving a couple of blocks she thought I'm going to circle back that was weird everyday I drive past that place and today it just appears. As she rounded the corner the stone on the bldg. was sparkling in the intense sunlight looking rather beautiful and it made her smile.

Nature Gone Wild
by compound complex intoday i take the same road to the same destination of a week before.
this tuesday, however, the sky is no brilliant blue but a soggy blanket of dull gray.
it is a strange twist of cosmic inscrutability that its lofty but drab self should willingly acquiesce to the terrestrial, deigning to allow preeminence to the fall colors of the landscape.

What's The Worst Thing About Ever Having Been A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus infor me, it's the waste of precious time and being lied to.. stupid time consuming things to do that are utterly worthless!
and on top of that being told that you were going to live forever on paradise if you followed their decrees..

Whenever i read about everyone's situation I feel really bad,for me it was different. It was just another dead end in my search for life's meaning I became a jw at 36 didn't lose any family members or my husband because we left together. we didn't follow all their instructions we continued to think and improve our financial future and we didn't have children. we just left because it wasn't the truth and yes we had to leave alot of people we were fond of but other than wasted years not much impact.
However, since I've left and read everyone's stories I am overwhelmed by the intense sorrow and damage the org has caused and while I was in I guess I was oblivious to others sufferings especially the children since I,m not a kid person and I didn't pay attention. The whole experience is a hard lesson.

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 - The Day My JW Faith Began to Die (finally)
by AllTimeJeff init was late june of 2001 that i was appointed as an elder at the amazingly seasoned age of 26. a true lifelong goal had been achieved.
i had to be appointed an elder before 30. already, peers were starting to be appointed.
i had to make it.

That event helps one to realize what the org is really saying. The idea that 7 billion humans will be executed in a horrible way by a being who expects you to love and respect and obey it so you don't get murdered as well is pretty crazy.

A different way of looking at birthdays is to tell your child how happy you are that they where born and you want to celebrate that day because it is special to you tell them about the birth in a loving way and any gifts you give to them are gifts of thank you for being my child and bringing me such pleasure. The org makes it out like it's an egotistical event but as i tell my mother I don't remember any of it really it's your day not mine.
You can give holidays a different viewpoint if you're not comfortable with them.

Is Hard Work Hard on You?
by compound complex ingood morning, friends:.
wishing you all well today.. many of us gave up college and a possible career in the field of our dreams.
i have no regrets turning my inordinate childhood obsession with cleanliness into interior and exterior maintenance: janitorial and gardening.

It's strange isn't it we were taught that one day all pain would disappear and we would be young and everything wonderful and exciting. Surprise surprise now life is just a pain event. I have pain everyday as well and have tried all the fish oils and vitamins and its still there. I wish it was different for all of and if I knew the answer or had a secret formula I'd pass it on.

Golly, what a wonderful unplanned weekend...
by Glander ingreat weather, lots of family dropping by and some staying over.
impromptu food arrangements turned out great.
a couple of months ago we converted the side yard into a campground setting with a fire pit, picnic table, and screen tent, etc.

We got the plates taken care of and my husband installed some special screws to make it difficult for someone to try that again.
